  • Round dot / penny dot (studded) – the classic raised-stud pattern. Good grip, easy to sweep; popular in garages, gyms, shops and changing rooms.

  • Checker plate – heavy duty grip for ramps, decking, steps and high-traffic routes.
  • Fine ribbed – directional grip for corridors, walkways and long runs.
  • Drainage walkway matting – 10m rolls with an open structure for roofs and wet areas.

Which Thickness?

  • 2mm–3mm – vans, shop floors, light commercial walkways
  • 4mm–6mm – garages, workshops, gyms and heavier foot traffic

Rolls or Mats?

Flooring rolls are best for covering a whole room or long walkway. If you only need protection in specific spots, such as in front of a sink, workstation or doorway, see our anti-slip mats.

Non-Slip Flooring FAQs

Can non-slip flooring be cut to size?

Yes. Most of our rolls are sold by the linear metre, and you can trim them on site with a sharp knife and straight edge.

Does non-slip flooring need gluing down?

Not always. Many installations are loose-laid. For permanent or high-traffic areas, use a suitable rubber flooring adhesive.

What is the most slip-resistant pattern?

Raised patterns such as diamond tread and checker plate give the most multi-directional grip. Check each product page for its slip rating.

Common questions

Is delivery free?

Yes. Delivery is free on every order to UK addresses, and orders are dispatched within 24 hours. If you're outside the UK, email sales@expressmatting.co.uk for a shipping quote before you order.

Can you cut it to size?

Many of our rolls are sold by the metre and cut to the length you choose. See cut lengths under 10m, or call 01744 520 110 about other sizes.

How do I choose the right thickness?

Thicker rubber absorbs heavier impacts. For free weights and racks, most customers choose 16–18mm tiles or mats; for cardio areas and workshops, 3–10mm rolls are usually enough. See our thickness guide and calculator.
