Our Rubber Grass mats are designed and manufactured exclusively by The Rubber Company to provide superior safety, durability and versatility. Our rubber grass mats offer a discreet and cost-effective solution to easily increase the safety of natural grass playgrounds, activity centres, public areas, golf courses. We supply this product in two thicknesses as standard but most often 22mm and only recommend this thickness for any fall height protection.

As the name suggests, our Rubber Grass mats are mainly used on grass. However, due to its versatility and high-quality materials we manufacture from, you can use our rubber grass mats in various environments. We regularly supply for our grass mats for use at: ice rinks, ski slopes, pathways, events for ground protection and even in bars and kitchens. A side from fall protection, these mats offer slip resistance, anti-fatigue properties, drainage holes for wet areas or spillage zones and ground reinforcement.

Rubber Grass Difference – Before After

The unique aperture design that our Rubber Grass mats feature allow for higher rates of drainage. However, they also serve another key purpose which sets our rubber grass mats apart from other safety surfacing products. After the matting has been installed grass will begin to grow through the holes which, in time can hide the mats almost entirely. This enables you to greatly increase safety while also maintaining the natural look of your outdoor area.

Our rubber grass mats are suitable for use in all weather conditions. Unlike PVC matting, which becomes brittle in colder temperatures, our rubber grass matting properties do not fluctuate in different temperatures. This ensures that Rubber Grass Mats is able to provide consistent levels of safety and protection all year around.

This graph provides the results of HIC fall height testing to BS EN 1177:2018 on concrete, grass and then on both with the use of Rubber Grass Mat. This is to make clear how the fall height can be achieved and how it can be used as a base layer for other systems. Critical fall height refers to the distance a child can fall without risk of serious injury. This means that larger play equipment will require a larger critical fall height in order to avoid any potential hazards.

This makes our rubber grass mats particularly popular for use in outdoor play areas as an extremely cost effective safety surface. Tall play equipment such as play frames, swings and slides all pose a potential hazard to children should they fall off. Our impact absorbing grass mats greatly reduce the risk of injury as they are soft and able to compress under pressure.

RAMP EDGE PROFILES

Our Ramp Edge Profiles create the perfect edge for laying Rubber Grass Mat onto a hard surface to divide play spaces. The Rubber Edging strip can be placed against a shock pad in conjunction with Rubber Grass matting. This economical and environmentally friendly solution provides a firm, vandal resistant edge as well as a distinct clean finish to the surface.
